Purpose Unlocked

“Many plans are in a man's mind, but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand. — ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:21‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

No matter what's going on right now, You have breath and you still have purpose! It might not feel like you do, but the devil's greatest scheme is to get into your mind. (Ephesians 6:12) You better cast down that thought! If you haven’t read my blog called “Ordered Steps” you should because this blog ties into what we’ve been talking about… When you begin to walk with God, You get wisdom and things become more clearer. He gives us a spirit of power, love, and of a sound mind. God wants the best for you and he has a specific plan for your life. Ordered steps lead you into calling and purpose and that is what I want to talk about today.

The hardest pill for me to swallow was not letting the word purpose become the definition of my life. At one point, I got so caught in “doing” purpose to the point when I wasn’t “doing” purpose I would start to feel so worthless and I loved to say “I feel purposeless.” When I wasn’t doing “my purpose”, I felt like I was only existing. I realized that I had let what I was doing define me. Purpose isn’t a status. It’s an everyday destination. Your steps have been ordered by the Lord, but you have to make the decision everyday to answer the call. It’s never been about doing things for God. This isn’t about being a “good Christian” with a perfect reputation. This is about reality. It’s about growing with Christ in the midst of our frustration, in the mist of spiritual warfare. It’s every decision that you make today. Remember what 1 Corinthians 10:23 (AMPC) says, “All things are legitimate [permissible–and we are free to do anything we please], but not all things are helpful (expedient, profitable, and wholesome). All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life].”

We can lean on our own understanding, make our own plans, and impress people with the things we have, but is this beneficial? Would you rather let your plans outweigh God’s perfect purpose for you? I’ll say it again, he sees the entire picture. There’s a reason why things are not. It’s hard sometimes to stay focused on what’s important, especially with so many things influencing us on social media, but when we ask the spirit to come in and guide us; He is able to direct us the correct way to go. You have to be confident that you’re hearing God's voice. Pay attention to the things you see while you’re driving and to what people are saying to you. God is always revealing a new thing to his children. He’s revealing that once we begin to have a true relationship and unravel the mysteries of Christ, you will begin to see that you had purpose this whole time. Do not be blind to the things that are right in front of you. His spirit brings fullness and peace. Yielding to him allows him to direct your path, and lead you to your calling. We were made to worship and glorify him. Time in worship just feels soo good. We worship in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) Worship him for his goodness. He chose you to be his first love. He is the one who has the last say in all things, including your current situation. Everyday is filled with purpose. You just have to uncover the distractions that’s been hiding the purpose. You’re here and you have more time to share God’s light and love to the world.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Don’t get caught up in your thoughts or the overwhelming stress of succeeding. Listen to what God is telling you to do at this moment. All we have is right now. God’s will always prevails. Be patient, WAIT and you will see the lord come through. Remember there is a season for everything. (and that includes preparation time) Maybe you have to endure a specific thing before that dream can become reality. (Also, remember faith without works is dead) God brings forth fruit when you obey. Sometimes this doesn’t happen right away. You have to keep choosing him everyday.

God’s love is unfathomable. We can comprehend so little. Rest in his promises and live everyday on purpose.
