Unfilled

Updated: Jul 1, 2021

If you couldn’t tell by now, I like asking questions. Good questions that will make you think. Here’s another one… Are you depending on the source of all things that are good for fulfillment or on things that only feel like comfort?

I can’t pinpoint why we run to things that don’t really fill us. It’s comfortable. It feels good now. We think by waiting on someone else to change is going to change us. We think by drinking until we don’t remember anything is going to change the reason why we’re drinking. In reality, these things are only taking things from us. It only brings temporary satisfaction, and digs us into a deeper hole.

This is the year to stop doing things that aren’t really filling us. Stop wasting time. Stop blaming everyone else for your reason of unhappiness. We are blinded by a false idea of what being “filled” really is. It’s time to run to the source that brings true, everlasting fulfillment!

Without true fulfillment, we are going to lack. I was in a pattern of running to things and people. I grew so numb to the feeling that I didn’t recognize what I was really doing. I became lost and forgotten who I come from. I was full of myself. I was fighting my own battles that I had created for myself. I was too selfish to let go of the counterfeit satisfaction that the world brings.

I have to tell you this... everything the world offers will never fill you. I’ve been at the very lowest of things that I hope to share with you, but nothing satisfies like Jesus. Nothing is more filling than the holy spirit dwelling in you.

I love the story of Jesus visiting the Samaritan woman while she went to draw water from the well. (see John 4:1-26 NIV) In verses 13 and 14 Jesus says to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” This leads me to another question… Have you been drinking from the well of Samaria or the living water of Jesus?

If you’re asking yourself right now… “Why is my life like this?” It’s because you’ve been going to all the wrong things, places, and people. It’s time to lay everything down at the feet of Jesus. “For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Psalms‬ ‭107:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we seek the source to fill us; he will not fail. With the lord, love and everything

good is present. God knows what is best for us. That’s why he gives and then sometimes he takes things away. Nomatter what God is doing in your life - go to him for EVERYTHING. I’ll leave you with this quote today...

“Movement is your responsibility, fulfillment is God’s”
